Spine Rehabilitation

Layfield & Associates Physical Therapy uses a comprehensive approach to the rehabilitation of spinal disorders. Our evaluation consists of a subjective and objective examination as well as an analysis of active and passive movement, gait, functional movement, neuromuscular control, and segmental intervertebral movement. A neurological analysis is also performed when appropriate.

Because we specialize in pathokinesiology, our treatment program for spinal disorders includes manual therapy techniques, trunk and extremity motor control drills, strength and flexibility training, diaphragmatic breathing, cardiovascular conditioning, balance exercises, functional movement training, and posture, body mechanics and ergonomic education.

Our therapeutic exercise programs include Pilates based exercise, dynamic, multiplane-training of the entire kinetic chain, standard progressive strengthening, trunk stabilization, and dynamic and static stretching.

Our goals are to enhance function, optimize wellness, and provide self-management techniques through education and a comprehensive home exercise program.
